Pen Spinning Tutorial 10: Shadow

This week’s trick is called that Shadow. This trick is actually something I thought up on my own only to later realize that someone had already come up with it, and it had a name :-( . Anyway… this trick involves spinning the pen over the top of your fingers starting from either the middle and ring fingers or middle and index then stopping in either spot. This tick actually took me a little while to get down, it may even be the longest I spent learning one. I didn’t, however, have any tips (like learning the charge and sonic first) so I had to figure it out.

Here it is:

Pen Spinning Tutorial 9: Build A Modded Pen

So, I’ve been showing you how to do all these tricks using one of my custom pens. This is where you can find out how to make a pen like the one I use.
Here’s what You’ll need:
1x Pentel R.S.V.P Pen
1x F*301 Zebra Pen
1x G2 Pilot Pen
1x Thread Seal Tape
1x Design Insert (For aesthetics)

(NOTE: you only need one RSVP… I goofed)

First, you will want to remove the grip from the Pilot Pen.

Then You want to take apart all the other pens. This is what you should have.

(NOTE: Again, you only need one RSVP, sorry bout that)

Put a hole through the bottom piece from the R.S.V.P pen. You can do this using a knife, a drill, a push pin (not easy)… just something sharp will do.

Wrap the plumber’s tape (thread seal tape) around the tip and where the grip was on the R.S.V.P pen. This serves two purposes: It adds weight to the pen to make it more balanced, and it also provides a sort of padding between the pen and the new grip we will put on later.

Now take the metal tip from the Zebra pen and place it on the end of the R.S.V.P pen you just wrapped up, then wrap a little more tape around that to keep it on the pen. **NOTE** Eventually you may find that the metal tip will fall off on you. My advice is to use super glue to keep it on permanently.

Slide the Pilot G2 grip over the top of the R.S.V.P. You can also put in your design insert at this point if you have one.

Now take one of the ink tubes and put it through the inside of the cap that you put a hole through earlier:

Put the grip from the R.S.V.P pen into the cap of the R.S.V.P pen (also break off the clip on the cap)

**HINT** To do this easily, wet the grip with some water then push it into the cap using the back of the R.S.V.P pen.

Now just put the back cap on with the ink tube followed by the back cap with the grip inside. Your pen should look something like this.

And… now you have your very own pen spinning pen.

Pen Spinning Tutorial 8: TBA

Today’s trick is one that I actually do not know the name of. It is a simple trick that involves spinning the pen from your index and ring finger around your index finger and catching it between your index and thumb. If you know the name of this trick please say so in the comments or send me a message and I’ll check it out.

Pen Spinning Tutorial 7: Charge

As promised, here’s the second video for this week. The trick today is called the Charge. This is another trick that can be done in rapid succession or forever. This trick involves spinning the pen between two fingers (in the video it is the middle and ring fingers). The trick can be done between any other two adjacent fingers (and I’ve even seen people who do it between their pinky and index fingers).

Pen Spinning Tutorial 6: Infinity

I wasn’t able to make a tutorial last week due to problems with my laptop (which has my webcam on it). It has been remedied though! So, this week I’ll have two videos; one today and another in a couple days. Today’s tutorial is on a trick called The Infinity. This trick can be done in rapid succession and thus can be done for as long as the pen spinner wants (hence the name of it).

Here it is:

Pen Spinning Tutorial 5: Fingerpass

This week’s trick is, yet again, another basic pen spinning trick. This one is one of a few that I wouldn’t consider a full fledged trick because of its simplicity. However, this trick does help people, new to pen spinning, get used to moving the pen around with their fingers and it serves as a good transition between tricks. As always, let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Pen Spinning Tutorial 4:Double Thumb Around and Reverse Double Thumb Around

This week I have two tricks in my tutorial. They are similar tricks, so I decided to go ahead and put them both in the same video. The first is the double thumb around. This trick involves the same motions as the thumb around but you let it spin on the top of your thumb for an extra rotation. The reverse double thumb around has the same principle. It has the same motions as the reverse thumb around but you let it spin on the top of your thumb for an extra rotation. The first trick I have down pretty well (though I do mess it up sometimes), it took me a long time to get it down this well. The second trick I’m still trying to master; I probably only make the double reverse thumb around every 3/5 times. Good luck learning these tricks guys. As always let me know what you think or if you have any questions or comments.

Pen Spinning Tutorial 3: Reverse Thumb Around.

Sorry about the late post this week guys, I had some stuff going on. This week is a tutorial on how to do the Revers Thumb Around. This trick is basically the opposite of the Thumb Around. This trick starts with the pen in the ending position of the Thumb Around, then going in a reverse direction ending in the starting position of the Thumb Around.
Here’s the video:

Pen Spinning Tutorial 2: Sonic

This week I made a video tutorial on the Sonic move. This trick involves spinning the pen from the two middle fingers to the index and middle fingers. Also the trick can be done from the pinky and ring finger to the two middle fingers. This was the second trick that I learned, it didn’t come too long after I learned the thumb around. Although by the time I learned this trick I had started to use slightly better pens, but I hadn’t quite gotten to the specially modified pens that I use today. Once again, let me know if you guys have any thoughts or questions.

Pen Spinning Tutorial 1: Thumb Around.

My first tutorial will be one of the basic tricks that most beginners start with. The thumb around involves using your middle finger to spin the pen around the thumb. This was the first trick that I learned and since I was using a very light Bic pen it took me a few days to get down. So the best Advice I can give to a beginner is to either use a pen with a little bit of weight to it (like a pentel R.S.V.P) or use a regular old num. 2 pencil. I will be posting a tutorial in a coming post about the pen I use and how to construct one.

Once again if the video leaves you with questions or comments, please let me know and I’ll try to clear them up the best I can.
